7 Reason why someone like Obama cannot be elected in South Africa today
1. After Thabo Mbeki’s reign of mostly silence and overseas travel, someone seen as intelligent is not going anywhere near Tuynhuis.
2. If he was leader of the Democratic Alliance – NO WAY would he even be leader. He isn’t white!
3. If he was leader of the ANC – NO WAY since he isn’t black enough.
4. Discipline in South African politics? I think not! Although anyone who could keep the ANC Youth League and Cosatu in line should be president for life!
5. Eloquent? But that’s elitist!
6. He hasn’t been imprisoned for political nor criminal reasons nor was he in exile.
7. A likeable politician. We already had one 14 years ago and lightening doesn’t strike twice.
