Joost Video: Where is it Heat?

Other than a few stills of someone who looks remarkably like Joost van der Westhuizen with a woman in various stages of undress, there has still been no sign of the video – either on Heat.co.za nor on YouTube.

In this day and age it is unheard of to have something so hot not featuring on YouTube within minutes of its discovery.

Heat says they’re not showing it because team Joost asked them to hold off on showing it.

Uhmmm, yeah right!

Since when do tabloids actually give a damn about their ‘victims’?

I’m sure team Joost would have also liked Heat not to publish pictures nor discuss aspects of the video.

Despite what they keep saying, are Heat Magazine’s editorial team not certain of their facts? Do they have doubts about the video’s authenticity? Are they covering themselves?

They are advertising their new issue of 3 March, promising more on Joostgate and also a reply for Joost.

And just to keep the story hot for another week, Heat is in the process of having a voice analysis of the video done.

Both parties are actually acting very strangely.

Joost has hired a private detective to find out who is behind the video – insinuating that the Real Estate industry has it in for him and is trying to frame him.

Just to add some realness to the saga, singer Juanita du Plessis also claims to have received threats from players in the Real Estate world.

Who knew those estate agents were such a cut throat lot!  To go to all that trouble to frame Joost!

It’s not like there’s a Joost look alike around every corner!

If there were no children involved, this story would be really hilarious.

Hopefully Heat will get all the mileage out of the Joost video saga very soon and move onto the Hollywood set.

Even though there’s a very good chance that Joost van der Westhuizen is featured in that video, it is between him and his wife,

The Obamas have Chosen the Portuguese Water dog!

The world can at last breathe a sigh of relief…well almost!

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, wants to keep his election promise to his daughters – to get them a dog.  The family are apparently looking for a rescue dog to adopt.

It’s not as Obama’s budget for the already deeply indebted US isn’t weighing on his mind!

After narrowing down the field to the Labradoodle and the Portuguese water dog breeds – both hypoallergenic – the family was said to have settled on the cute water dog.

Of course now the Labradoodle crowd feels snubbed, causing Michelle Obama to put out a press release that that the decision is not final!

But the already everyone and his dog is getting involved in the decision.

As for the Portuguese water dog – as the name suggests, the breed name suggests, it originally comes from the coast of Portugal.  The were trained to herd fish into fishermens nets.

Portuguese water dogs are described on Wikipedia as making excellent companions.

“”they are loving, independent, and intelligent and are easily trained in obedience and agility skills. Once introduced, they are generally friendly to strangers, and actively enjoy being petted, which, due to their soft, fluffy coats, is a favour that human beings willingly grant them.”

So far the names Frank and Moose has been mooted and booted!

Hopefully the Obama daughters will get a dog long before their time in the White House is over!

Zille shouts for the Bulls?!!!

As if this particular blog needed one more reason to dislike the mayor of Cape Town Helen Zille, then she went ahead and gave another one.

Yesterday she declared her support for the Pretoria team the Bulls on a Pretoria Radio Jacaranda, ahead of our very own local Stormers team!

She was born in Johannesburg and apparently got her Bulls love from there.  Doesn’t Johannesburg people have a team – the Lions?

Does make sense though – a whole lot of bull makes it out of Helen Zille’s mouth on any given day!

No wonder she and Julius Malema seem to be getting on so well in their war of stupid words.

Weightloss: The Gabriel Method

There’s a sucker born every few seconds, especially where weight loss tips are concerned.

At the same time there’s also millionares in waiting with the latest solution at hand.

This time we’re presented with the Gabriel Method devised by a man called Jon Gabriel a former New Yorker, now living in Perth Australia.

Firstly Mr Gabriel is nobody’s fool.

He wrote a book detailing his method of losing the 100kg he weighed.  So if you want the full rundown, then I guess you will have to buy the book.

The short version of the programme is this:

Eat!

Apparently our bodies think they’re starving and craves more food.  The Gabriel Method allows the overweight person to eat anything his/her body requires.

Jon figured his overweightness was caused by stress, bad food and crash dieting.  The result was that his body went into starvation mode.

He noted that the bodies of indeginous people in colder climates were insulated with fat, while people in tropical areas had no such problem.

The trick according to the Gabriel Method is to make your body think it lives in a tropical climate and eat good. vitamin-rich food.  Jon found that he shed his weight when he no longer craved bad food.

So far I have to admit, this sounds every other diet out there – with a different packaging.

The best way to lose weight is to use common sense, eat as much natural food as possible, supplement with vitamins if necessary and exercise.

Also if you take care of the environment – walk instead of driving, taking the stairs instead of a elevator, creating a functional garden, etc. will all help towards overall health and fitness.

Maybe I should too write a book and call it the Cape Flats Diet?
