Two Oceans 21 km Update: Week 2 March

Written on March 4, 2009 – 10:21 am | by Abigail Abrahams |

After some last minute doubts, I entered the Two Ocean’s 21km race today. There were just 2 hours to go before entries closed!

I entered via the website http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za, made the payment of R200.00 which included R90 for the entry fee, R25.00 for a temporary license and R85 for a championship chip.

Within a minute I got my confirmation via email. Now all that’s left is to go register on either 8, 9 or 10 April at the Good Hope Centre!

I will be on leave during that time, so will have no problem going during the day, although they are open from 10.00am – 8.00pm.

It’s actually a relief – I think I would have been really disappointed in myself had I not done so.

Anyway, training is going fine.  I’m amazed that I can run for an hour – although sometimes at a very slow pace.

I’ve cut out walking all together, because my athlete brother told me so – even if I never otherwise listen to him, I thought this was good for me.

Some of the running is just as slow if not slower than walking pace.  But I find that keeping a running motion works better for me.

I guess from here on in it’s just to keep on doing what i’m doing and hope all goes well on the day.
