A Malema vs Zille Debate. Yes, Please!

Written on March 11, 2009 – 6:14 pm | by Glass Pearl |

As entertaining as Pisceans Julius Malema and Helen Zille can be, this Aries can take just so much of their nonsense.

Today some headlines that rolled in to my Inbox through RSS  made me shake my head but it wasn’t enough to click into the articles.

The funniest headline of the bunch is Malema calling Zille to a debate, because as he said, they’re on the same level.

Of course I’ve saying that for a while now.

But the image brought a smile during a very busy day at the office.

I sat at my overflowing desk and pictured those two trying to out do each other with outrageous oneliners.  Both as smug as they usually are.

Helen Zille will of course be (to quote WaZzA a commenter on this blog) “school headmistress” -like in her customary reprimanding way.  She will make her point as if it was given to her via Moses on Mount Sinai in front of a burning bush.

Malema will just say stupid random stuff, that has nothing to do with the question at hand.

We the viewer will undoubtedly be very entertained – with any luck it will come on during prime time on a Sunday night in the place of Rush Hour 1 or 2 or Steven Segal’s masterpieces.

The debate format should just have those two – Malema and Zille – standing behind a podium with minimal interruption from the moderator.

On second thought, Helen Zille will just go on and and on and on spreading the gospel according to her majesty.

Malema will probably not even listen to Zille’s replies, he’ll just stick to his one or two talking points, regardless of the question asked.

Someone, pleaseeeeeee set it up.

Just tell me the date and time and I’ll be watching that debate with a huge bowl of popcorn in hand.

Abigail – you love taking things out of context. I said this about Zille and not in a negative light – in fact my views on her were positive, I merely commented that she is percieved this way – but went on to say “who would you rather have running the country – an efficient school head mistress or a crook?”

But its fine I am starting to expect misquoting and selective reading to be normal on your part when you deal with blog comments or posts.

*****For anyone who actually reads this blog and may think WaZzA loves Malema and doesn’t love Helen Zille, here’s the direct quote:
“Zille can come across sometimes as the “Head School Mistress” no doubt, but I feel her honesty and sincerity are real.”

Helen Zille is THE best. Her sincerity silences every accusation.

HH, I disagree with you, she is NOT the best and her “sincerity” definitely has not silenced me as you can read.
