Are there genuine internet work opportunities?

For some people, looking for that elusive internet job is a waste of time. Simply put, there are very few ‘real’ admin work-from-home jobs to be found in on Gumtree and other similar sites.

Are there no genuine opportunities then?

Most of the work out there require some entrepreneurial spirit and some marketing of skills.

Companies like Avon, Honey and Tupperware, etc. offer opportunities for those good with sales, but many people shudder at the thought. At least it is an honest living. Circumstances being as they are though, consumers are using their disposable income very discerningly these days.

If you have skills, there are usually people, somewhere, who need it and will pay for it. It is only a matter of promoting yourself as a business entity.

For instance – if you want to do data capturing at home, then offer your services to the company you work for or other small companies. The expectation should be that you have to make the offer

With labour laws as the are, most companies use employment agencies – online and offline for ‘traditional’ employment opportunities. If they need it, they will look for business services.

Think about it: all of us have something we are good at. Photography, web design, marketing, babysitting, bookkeeping, etc. Do what you have to do to let people know what you have to offer.

The internet also offers its own opportunities, like affiliate marketing, auctioning and Adsense. In a saturated market it takes hard work and time to make an impact.

There are real opportunities, but as with most thing in life, it necessitates action from us.
