Nando’s probably had no idea how much mileage their elections marketing campaign would get out of the 100% Julius advert that flighted during the elections.
Maybe they are paying Julius Malema a fee after all, because he won’t stop talking about chickens.

Questioned by journalists about the Nando’s situation, Julius replied: “I don’t know what’s happening with Nando’s. We are running this country and we cannot be concerned about chickens.”
Running the country, heaven forbid!
Malema said before that he had no problem with Nando’s but wanted to be paid for use of his image.
After meeting with Nando’s, they agreed to pull the advert, but flighted a similar ad with the image blurred, voice distorted and no mention of the puppet’s name – for one night only.
In case anyone was wondering, Malema set the record straight “I eat chicken, it doesn’t matter which chicken, whether it’s one from the streets, cooked …”

Kirstie Alley will appear on Oprah Thursday, 30 April (US show) to discuss her weight gain.
Those who followed Kirstie’s weightloss will know that about 4 years ago she went on the Jenny Craig weighloss programme and also acted spokesperson.
After losing a huge amount of weight, she appeared on Oprah in a bikini showing off her new shape.

During her public weightloss efforts Kirstie appeared on Oprah numerous times to talk about her struggle to lose weight. She spoke openly about her negative self image since she lost her movie star figure – resulting in a life without dating.
She also introduced her fitness routine which consisted of hip hop dancing to the Oprah audience.
Kirstie Alley’s relationship with Jenny Craig came to an end in 2007 after she had lost 75 pounds.
Since then she has gained back all the weight.
On Thursday’s Oprah show, Kirstie will likely find a kindred spirit, as Oprah’s weight battles have been well documented on her own show as well as in tabloids.

If you are anything like me, you might like to know what happens in your favourite soapies before the time.
A great website for spoilers for most South African Soapies, including Isidingo, 7de Laan, Generations, Rhythm City, etc. can be found on tvsa.co.za.
Find day to day spoilers for the month of May for 7de Laan and Isidingo.
I might just have to continue skipping Isidingo for a while because seeing Len in drag is not my idea of good viewing. And Barker Haynes is back…another reason for me to miss this soapie.
Parsons seems reluctant to get married to Thandi, but a wedding is nontheless planned. Shoot me now!
On 7de Laan Neville and Felicity’s romance continues to cause waves, that witch Gita continues to get her claws into clueless Tim and Linda suspects Tim of having an affair. Of course Linda confides in Gita about her suspicions! Kan jy nou meer!
Oh and Felicity’s fashion show takes a whole month to plan! And Paula has book problems.

Though I might not like winter much, there are aspects of it that makes it worthwhile.
Like soup! I love, love, love soup and will eat it nearly every day for lunch or supper. Plus it takes care of the vegetable portion of my daily intake.

Ingredients:
- Vegetables – buy ready made pack or use veggies of your choice – choose from carrots, celery, cauliflour, brocolli, onion, potato, radish, tomatoes, etc.
- 1 cube beef stock
- 1 cup dried split peas or soup mix
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- small tin tomato paste optional
Method
- Chop veggies roughly and put into a large pot with split peas and beef stock
- Fill pot 3/4 with water
- Boil for about 1 hour
- Remove the soup mixture and liquidize for a few seconds – depending how smooth you want your soup to be
- add more water if needed if soup becomes too thick and cook for a few more minutes
- add tomato paste and salt and pepper to taste

Below are the current IPL Season 2 T20 team and individual rankings.
So far the Declan Chargers have surprised – remaining unbeaten, while last years winners the Rajastan Royals have won only 2 matches.
Top batsman so far is Matthew Hayden, with South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs in second place.
With South African wickets being a lot kinder to bowlers than the sub-continent, scores have generally been low, with only AB De Villiers scoring a century.
