The Untouchable Jacob Zuma

Jacob Zuma must have been born under a damn lucky star.  That man is untouchable.

If you’ve seen images of the ANC rally in Johannesburg on Sunday, you can only wonder at the man’s charisma. None of which is apparent to me – by the way.

Regardless of a lack of formal education, a rape charge and multiple criminal charges, crowds still love him.  Their worship is almost comparable to the adoration rockstars get from fans -  seen recently with the likes of Barack Obama’s rise to power.

Even the great Nelson Mandela was on stage at the ANC’s final election rally- looking very much like he went there out of choice.

Zuma’s legend has already conquered a former president – Thabo Mbeki, given rise to a new political party – COPE and annoyed 40% of a nation.

If he hasn’t already, Jacob Zuma should have taken up gambling instead of ‘borrowing’ money from Schabir Shaik.   Since he still ‘owes’ Shaik money, a night at a casino might do the trick.

That man is just too darn lucky for words.

Not just content with having escaped the South African courts, Zuma now wants to take on the British ones.

The Guardian already blinked – first by taking the offending article off their website and then offering a half-assed apology for Simon Jenkins’ article calling Zuma a rapist.  They however did not retract the rest of the claims.

Jacob Zuma vows to fight on for a full apology and unnamed amount in damages.

If you were a gambler, you surely wouldn’t bet against Zuma winning this one either?
