Survivor is back! Yayyyyyyyy!

The first episode of Survivor China started on SABC 3 Monday night.

It still takes a little getting used to as Survivor is still synonymous with Tuesdays in my minds.

You know what they say, you can take the survivor off the island, but the game’s pattern remains the same.

And so it was.

The episode started with a visit to a temple where they performed a ceremony – one of the contestants, Leslie refused to partake in the ceremony. Se said she was not very religious it was against her Christian beliefs.

I really had no problem with that at all – to each his/her own.  That particular decision got some airplay afterwards in the US for some reason.

This time there was no big divide into different tribes.   The teams were divided – Flying Dragon and Fighting Tiger by producers and given their buffs and a copy of  Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War’ to start the game.

Names and faces are all still a bit of a mishmash, but so far James the undertaker stood out with his awesome physique and (so far) gentle manner.

As usual one team was filled with lazy people (and smart asses) who played around instead of building a shelter and as usual some stupid person accepted the leadership position gleefully thrust upon him by team mates.

At the first immunity challenge the lazy tribe were unable to work as a team and had to face tribal council.

The pickings for elimation was rich – Ashley the female wrestler who appeared sick most of the time seemed the prime candidate to be sent home.

Before we knew it the episode was over – and Chicken was sent home.
