SABC Coverage of ICC World T20
Trying to find out whether SABC 3 will be covering the ICC World T20 championship is nearly impossible.
Cricket.co.za mentions that Standard Bank will sponsor the SA cricket team as well as be broadcast sponsors for SABC and Supersport.
So far there is no mention of the ICC T20 matches on SABC channels nor on their website.
The only thing they are advertising ad naseum is President Zuma’s state of the nation address. Who cares about that when there’s more cricket on the horizon?
Even the DSTV programme guide makes no mention of cricket on SABC 3′s schedule for the next two weeks.
The first game features England vs Netherlands on 5 June at 6.30pm. Nothing on SABC’s schedule!
But with the financial woes and disrupted board, I won’t be holding my breathe for tv coverage though.
Maybe they’ll show the last few matches?

I agree that we wont see any t20 cricket on SABC because of the financial difficulties they are facing and the fact that they are going to broadcast the confed cup.I think they will try to show delayed games which will be very disappointing.

I thought that supersport had the SA rights, so
imagine my surprise to see the india vs bangla match on sabc3!
maybe we will be get lucky, and they will broadcast all SA matches:-)

I read that SABC and Supersport were sponsored by STD bank, but there was nothing on SABC’s their schedule.
Was happily surprised Saturday afternoon to see cricket while channel hopping!

GREAT NEWS GUYS IVE JUST FOUND ON THE SABC WEB SITE THAT WE WILL BE WATCHING THE T20 WC ON SABC 3…ALTHOUGH IT WILL BE DELAYED MATCHES NOT LIVE..GOOD NEWS FOR US SA CRICKET WORSHIPPERS…ENJOY AND LETS WIN THIS TIME….

sabc 3 is useless. they claim to cover the quater finals of cricket world cup. but today while west indies play pakistan in a quarter final game, sabc3 is instead showing a re-run of the india south africa game. they advertise cricket, and makes all cricket viewers believe that they are showing the quarter finals when infact they are not. who wants to see the re-runs??? sadly dissapointed in the local channels, but im not suprised.
