Federer the Great!
Who didn’t think Roger Federer would cry, win or lose at Sunday’s French Open Final.
It was thankfully tears of joy for my favourite tennis player.
If there was any doubt before, Federer proved that he was amongst the greatest players ever.
Not so long ago my other favourite tennis player Stefan Edberg, also needed the French Open to complete his Grand Slam set.
One Michael Chang – who we hardly ever heard of again – beat him to the title.
Federer fans hoped and hoped the same wouldnt’ happen with some unknown flash in the pan player called Robin Soderling plays one great match and changes history.
Fortunately it didn’t happen that way. Federer won 6-1, 7-6 (1), 6-4 instead.
It helped that his nemesis Rafael Nadal wasn’t in the final, of course.
