7de Laan: Charmaine, Neville and Felicity

Can that so-called love triangle between Charmaine, Neville and Felicity be any worse than it already is?

I doubt it!

Firstly, Felicity and Neville do not have chemistry, have nothing in common, never spent time together nor do they have a friendship or proper love relationship.

They are awkward together.

So why is Felicity all of a sudden – just before getting shot – so in love with Neville?

Sorry, this is plot driven nonsense.

Even worse is Charmaine and Neville secretly seeing each other.

Why?

To make Charmaine a martyr again?

And to let Neville look like a knight in shining armour?

Actually it makes all three look stupid.

Now we have Felicity probably paralysed also playing a martyr.

She doesnt want to burden Neville, so now we the viewer have to be burdened with this mess.

If everyone had acted like mature adults, Felicity would not have gotten shot while waiting for Neville and Charmaine would have had to find something else to be a martyr about.

This is one storyline I hope gets resolved very soon.

Amor Vittone Stands By her Man

Amor Vittone has come out publically to support husband Joost van der Westhuizen’s claim that he was not the man in the infamous heat magazine sex video.

She tells Marie Claire in an interview in their July issue, that she had not viewed the tape though.

Maybe she should, unless she does not want to know the truth.

Amor puts the blame for the video on certain people in the Afrikaans community (whoever that may be) and the police for being jealous of the couple.

They are trying to destroy her marriage she claims.

The country had moved on from the scandal of the year. Why is Amor still talking about this nonsense?

Does she intend writing a book or record a new album to sell to the public to heal the wounds?

OMG! The King of Pop Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest, was in a coma and reportedly died on Thursday.

This on the same day as another entertainment icon Farah Fawcett.

What awful news, I cant believe this.

Michael Jackson was 50 years old and far too young to die.

Wow, this is just so unbelievable at the moment I’m still shocked.

May he rest in peace.

Bafana Lose But…

Bafana Bafana did our country so proud tonight.

They held one of the world’s best teams until the 88th minute.

Who knew Bafana could actually look co-hesive on the field?

Well done to Carlos Santana.

Despite all the jokes at his expense, he made something of our national soccer team.

For huge portions of tonight’s game, Brazil found South Africa’s dogged defense at the end of an attack.

When Bafana Bafana play with a plan, they look much better than when individuals try to get noticed by big clubs.

The only thing missing for Bafana is Benni McCarthy.

Well done to Bafana Bafana.

This Confed Cup performance give us hope for a second round appearance at the 2010 World Cup.

What a freaking Confed match. The unlikely USA defeating European Champs Spain.

Almost unbelievable. If we hadnt just seen it for ourselves.

And in Bloemfontein of all places.

For the first few minutes of the game Spain admittedly did look a bit entitled and overconfident.

But the USA got into it soon enough and started holding their own.

When they scored that goal in the first half you sort of believed Spain would score soon enough.

It was not to be.

The USA just continued to defend like demons and attacked Spain’s goal with intent.

Spain’s star players Torres, Alonso, Villa, Fabregas, etc. could not breach the the USA’s goal.

Before you knew it Spain had to score three times to win the game.

It was not to be. They couldnt even score once.

Next game is our Bafana Bafana against Brazil Thursday night.

Is it too much to hope for another David vs Goliath win?
