Last Night’s E-TV News – Swine Flu
Last night e-tv news was uncharacteristically subdued while broadcasting about the H1N1 Virus.
So unlike that news channel.
In May they seemed to want to to get people in a frenzy by broadcasting images of people in white coats and wearing masks, spraying passengers on airliners with disinfectant.
It looked like something from a sci-fi movie!
Not content with just broadcasting the news as it happened, when it happened, they got on the Department of Health’s case for not doing something. About a situation that was happening on the other side of the world!
If that was not enough they had a reporter in the streets of South Africa interviewing locals about Swine Flu.
That was three months ago.
Now we’ve had one death, one possible death and a few hundred infections. I almost expected e-tv to this time send reporters out wearing white plastic coats and masks.
But instead we got a few facts, a visit to a primary school in Claremont, a few hints about keeping safe and then we moved on to the next story!
People in Cape Town are already in a frenzy about the recent break out of the H1N1 virus. Thank goodness e-tv didn’t aggravate the situation.
Anyway, the National Institutute for Communicable Diseases has sent out a notice telling people not to panic even if they do get the flu.
But instead to go to their GP and they will decide whether further tests are needed, since it seems everyone with a sniffle wants to get tested for the H1N1 virus.

Hi Debra, doing a great job.
Bit of a newsflash for you:
You know bout the cash-in-transit thats happening round Joburg?
Check Marco Singh out. He is a kingpin and is also linked to Mcbride also concerning cash-in-transits.
Good luck.
