Today we got just a little reminder that summer’s around the corner.

What a glorious day in Cape Town – warm sunshine, little wind.

Since we’ve started a greening project at work, it’s a pleasure to enjoy our garden.

I spent a few calming moments with the baby lavendar plants.

I cant wait for summer!

District 9 Opening This Week!

dis9vHit movie District 9 opens in SA this week, on 27 August and I can’t wait to see it.

So far District 9 has totalled over US$73.5million over the last 10 days at the US box office.

The only problem is that pirated copies are already starting to do the rounds. I’ve been asked by someone whether I wanted a copy – which of course I declined.

It’s a real shame that any movie gets pirated…hopefully South Africans will say no to viewing pirated versions of this movie and any other one for that matter.

Has Habana Signed for WP?

Rumour has it that Bryan Habana intends signing a two year contract with Western Province.

WP rugby union has only stated that they are close to signing the deal.

So far Province have been ‘close’ to signing Wynand Olivier (who re-signed with the Bulls) and Jaque Fourie (still under contract or not under contract, depending on who you believe.

Whether signing an established player like Habana will pay off, we’ll have to wait and see.

The big question though is whether that notorious Loftus crowd will boo Bryan Habana should he run onto their field in the WP/Stormers jersey.

England Wins the Ashes Back

All Australia had to do at the start of the 5th and final test match of the Ashes Series was to gain a draw.

Then they would have retained the Ashes trophy emphatically won in 2007.

Instead Ricky Ponting will have to eat humble pie yet again.

He’s getting used to it.

From day 1 of the match (with another South African player, Jonathan Trott, making his debut), England looked more capable than Australia.

And so it was.

Australia were bowled out for 169 in their first innings. From there on in it was game over for the Aussies.

They tried valiantly today though with Ponting and Mike Hussey trying to delay the inevitable.

The ending came as no surprise earlier this evening when the Aussies were bowled out 197 runs short of their target.

I hate that KFC Twister advert!

I can’t even explain how much I loathe the KFC Twister ad. There are absolutely no words!

The ad starts with a male handing his female colleague an extra Kfc Twister he bought.

He obviously has a crush on this woman for some reason.

She grabs the Twister bites a piece and then says “i love you”.

No ‘thank you’, no nothing.

The poor guy assumes she’s talking to him and says ‘I love you’ back.

She rudely exclaims that she’s talking to the Twister, leaving him flustered and embarrassed.

Arghh, I abhor rudeness! Even in adverts.
