The Things a Girl Has to Do
I’m back at the office after about 10 days of heavenly leave.
I had no idea how much grooming I have to do to get ready for work, until I started getting ready at around 5.00pm Sunday evening.
Because my hair is very temperamental, I started with that. All my hair wants is a wash, blow dry and an hour or so with the flat iron to get it it under control. Two hours of my life – twice a week!
I had to put half a can of hairspray on it this morning as this misty weather ain’t good for a black girl’s hair.
Then followed a good few minutes with the tweezers and unruly eyebrows. It wasn’t that unruly luckily, but they needed some extra cleaning up.
Another few minutes removing old nail polish, moisturising feet and reapplying nail polish to finger and toe nails.
Regardless of this horrible weather today, I’m wearing open toed shoes. Damn this Cape Town weather.
Not to mention the usual workout and nightly cleansing and moisturising.
That’s only Sunday evening. Each morning requires another 2 hours of work outs and preparing to leave home.
No wonder I’m so tired this morning!
Leave is more for recovering from getting ready for work, rather than work itself, it seems.
Just another 9 weeks to ago to 4 more weeks of recovery time! Can’t wait!
