November Madness

duckThis bizarre November weather we’re experiencing in Cape Town is having consequences beyond flooding and motor vehicle accidents.

My colleagues (and I) are cranky as heck.

And this morning some might even have been described as plain miserable. (Not that I would have said anything – for fear of my life!)

We had an incident – that might have started off small, but ballooned into a epic saga that we’ll probably hear about for the next month.

In all the mayhem there were these dark clouds and constant rain as a backdrop.

Depressing, I tell you!

I decided to ignore the rain and pretend the sun is shining, so I wore my purple peasant top with short sleeves. Although with a long-sleeved cardigan, jeans and knee-length boots!

I added a citrine bracelet and yellow-stoned ring to brighten up the dreariness I was feeling.
My loathing of cold rainy weather, especially when it’s no longer supposed to be winter, is no secret to my acquintences and I got a few “I see you’re defying the weather,” comments at the office.

That was the plan.

Initially I was going to wear a jacket, but I took it off and threw it on the couch (in defiance!) before exiting my home this morning.

I didn’t care if I was late for work nor if I was wet arriving.

It’s not winter, after all!

The weather report says it will be clearing up by the weekend.  For real this time.

I’m not holding my breath!
