SA’s Got Talent: Final

Written on November 12, 2009 – 8:35 pm | by Abigail Abrahams |

SA’s Got Talent is coming to an end tonight.

And if the message boards, polls and chats are anything to go by, Darren is an overwhelming favourite.

Lets see if we the public put our money where our mouths are.

First up was beatboxer George Avakian.

He started off slow, took things up a notch, but wasn’t as brilliant as before. Maybe the newness of the act just wore off for me.

Ian called it a class act. Shado called George the best beatboxer in the country. Randall said you can’t help be entertained by George.

Hearing impaired Darren was the second act.

He was his brilliant self. Darren has the moves. No doubt.

The gushing and pandering by Anele and especially Rob was a bit over the top.

As Randall said, there is no need to discuss Darren’s disability. His dancing speaks for itself.

Louwtjie was given the task to follow Darren’s act.

He came out with only one guitar this time and showed his genius once again.

What can I say. I loved this act.

Brilliant. Gets my vote so far.

Randall said Louwtjie showed his talent. Shado said she couldn’t believe a guitar could make all those sounds. Ian said it is a privilege to be on stage with such talent.

Then it was the brothers Willem and Louis from Stellenbosch.

Another favourite act that didn’t disappoint.

Those men can sing! Goosebumps!

Shado said they worked hard and never sounded so good. Randall said by hopefully 10pm both brothers would be happy. Ian said fantastic job.

Kalom was next. Can’t say I’m a fan of the kids. So didn’t enjoy his dancing much. I enjoyed his audition though.

Shado said he brings the music to life. Ian said he’s hard working and talented. Randall said he’s hard working talented and sweet.

Lastly was 9 year old Cleo who said she would be a thousand times better than the semi-finals.

And she was with her version of The Prayer.

Although not a fan of her singing. Not at all.

Randall said it was her best performance of the competition. Ian said Cleo blessed the show with her presence. Shado said Cleo proved why she had to be in the final over Daniel.

Randall was the only one to stick his neck out and predict a winner. He chose Darren.

As long ar one of those two children don’t win…

Let me go put in a vote or two for Louwtjie!

I voted for the brothers again. I got the chills listening to them sing and wish they had been able to sign the whole song.

It’s shocking that Cleo even got into the final 3 but Darren is a very worthy winner.

Loved the series even though I was afraid to watch it after all the shenanigans with Idols.

Compliments to the SABC. If they are able to pull something off like this, why did we have to wait 15 years for them to do it?

They have now set a benchmark for themselves…

All of the contestants were great for with the exception of Cleo. She shouldn’t even have been in the finals to begin with!

Luckily Darren was a worthy winner though we voted like mad for Louwtjie.
