Both Helen Zille and Julius Malema in the news within a week. Life is good! My favourite (not) politicians doing what they do best.
In case you didn’t know (because the cape town media indulges Helen Zille and co), Zille used our tax payers money to pay Heart 104.9 R2 million and some change. And this so she could speak to her subjects, uhm the good coloured citizens of Cape Town. Primary market of Heart 104.9.
Makes one wonder how many toilet enclosures the City could have built with R2million.
Neither Zille, nor Heart 104 bothered to tell their listeners that those among them who pay taxes were paying for the privilege of hearing Her Who is NEVER Wrong.
Fortunately for me I don’t listen to either Heart or Helen Zille.
The in typical Zille fashion, she denied any wrong doing. Imagine the venom from the Premier had the ANC done the same.
As stated before, the Cape Town media are giving her a free ride.. . again.
And then there’s her fellow Pisces, Julius Malema.
Even when he speaks sense it leaves us collectively shaking our heads.
This time its: One husband, one wife. And one boyfriend, one girlfriend.
Most of us would agree with the sentiments of his words of wisdom. But just the fact that Malema said it…
Its hard to believe even one woman in this country could see Julius as her knight in shining armour.
I don’t even mind that he was taking potshots at my third least favourite politician, Jacob Zuma.
Oh well. It made work for journalists and us bloggers.
For pure entertainment, no one beats the Zille/Malema show.

According to the Sowetan, Paul Mashaba is leaving Generations in December. This follows Karabo’s departure in October.

The actor Siyabonga Twala is said to be moving to KZN to pursue business interests. However, the article also says he is unhappy with the direction of his storyline.
So the sexiest actor in SA soapies is on his way out. Generations will definitely be a lot poorer with the loss of Connie Ferguson and Siyabonga leaving at around the same time.
At least that nasty piece of work known as Dineo, will not end up with Paul. Even though the Generations writers are doing their best to rewrite her character to be a new Karabo.
But Karabo she ain’t!
It was unnecessary the way the writers ended the Karabo/Paul relationship. It seemed rushed and implausible.
Any Generations viewer would ask how Karabo could go to the UK with Angela, only to end up in India having an affair with a man with far less presence and stature than Paul Mashaba.
Anyway, it’s Generations loss and the viewers loss. Hopefully it’s on to bigger and better things for Connie and Siyabonga.

My friend made me promise to watch Oprah and her latest weightloss endeavour as she has to work late tonight.
What I won’t all do for my friends!
So there was Oprah, with Geneen Roth, author of a New York Times best selling book.
I have to admit to finishing off the rest of my 100g Cadbury’s Wholenut that I bought last night, a heap of Marie biscuits and a cup of tea, all during the programme.
The topic of diets do that to me. What can I say.
According to Oprah, the book about not dieting has changed her life. She looked so hopeful, shame.
But we, Oprah viewers, have seen all this before.
Food addiction, self-hatred, abuse, etc.
I know it’s easy for me to talk or write. I haven’t needed to lose weight yet.
However, the fact that people are forever on diets, looking to lose weight is because of excessiveness and inactivity.
We eat more than our bodies need and then sit for hours behind a desk or on the couch.
And people like Oprah make matters worse by looking for psychological reasons.
It’s quite simple. People who are not overweight eat less and are more active.
The rest is just a money machine.
I could write a book and get rich with this crap.
People, once again…the secret is this:
If you eat more than is necessary, your body will store the excess as fat.
You can read a million books. Journal every bite you take. Count every calorie.
It will make no difference if you continue to eat too much. Regardless of your reasons for eating, as valid as they might be.
Here’s another thing…if you are happy with your body as it is, good for you.
It’s no one else’s business.

You know how it is. Just when you think you’re okay, something happens to shake things up.
For me it happened this morning.
On my way to work, I hurried along, late as usual.
Less than 50 metres from my gate is a parking entrance for a group of businesses.
A car stopped to let me pass. I looked up to say thank you and could have sworn it was an ex-b/f.
Not just any ex. THE one every woman should have at least once in her life.
But I couldn’t be sure. Even though the car’s number plate had his name.
As if I needed something new to obsess about!
Then at work today I had to pack up my office for my move tomorrow.
It was kind of sad because I loved my office for 5 years until this year. When I hated it.
Except for my colleague in the office next door. We had so much fun talking nonsense and sometimes fighting over stupid stuff.
I’m so glad he won’t be at work tomorrow or I might just have cried. While he laughed at me
On the other hand, I’m getting to share a much nicer office space, have more interesting work to do and I will be away from the gossipers.
So I guess its not so bad.
